Shubham has been remanded to police custody till February 5 after he was produced before the district sessions court on Friday and the juvenile has been sent to a rehabilitation centre.

Based on the information provided by the boy, the LCB team led by senior police inspector Vyenkat Andhale and API Badaakh, apprehended Shubham Neeraj Singh (20), a resident of Bhayander said to be the kingpin of the gang which he not only named Team 23 but also went about pasting its stickers on the stolen bikes.

A case under section 379 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the trio. Alarmed by the spurt in cases of bike theft, Thane (rural) SP Dr Mahesh Patil directed the LCB to be extra alert and nab the culprits. Neematic, a new player in the e-bike market made its first public appearance of their electric bike – FR/1 – at Intermot 2016 in Germany.Initial design and engineering for the bike was commenced in early 2014, with Neematic then being established in 2015 with backing from Practica Capital, a venture capital fund.‘We wanted to create a top performance e-bike for rough terrain.

With its 20kW peak power motor, aluminium frame and off-road suspension, the FR/1 is according to the company, a perfect fusion of MTB Bike Handlebars Manufacturers and dirt bike.

At a recent Goa India bike week there were 12,000 participants.MV Agusta has nothing to do with aerospace firm Agusta Westland.    

Mr Ajinkya Firodia of Kinetic who has brought in Agusta to form MV Agusta India Pvt Ltd of which he is the managing director, said they will import and assemble the superbikes in India.MV Agusta plans to bring in their most expensive Rs 50-lakh bike the F4 RC to India.Augusta was China Bicycle Bike Clamps Manufacturers not a late entrant in this superbike category dominated by four foreign brands like Harley Davidson (American), Duccati (Italian), Triumph (British) and Kawawsaki (Jpanese). The company unveiled its first range of superbikes — the F4, F3 and Brutale 1090 — on Wednesday which will now be available at its first ‘Motoroyale’ dealership in Pune. He said there is a growing bike culture with riding groups and by 2020 the number of super bikes in the country is expected to double from the 20 per cent annually presently.  

The F4 RC is a limited 150 units edition, of which only unit will be sold in India.Speaking to this newspaper, Mr Firodia said they don’t yet have a buyer for this most expensive bike, though there is one person who owns this bike but he bought it abroad last year.Italian superbike maker MV Agusta has announced its entry into the niche Indian superbike market in partnership with Kinetic, the manufacturer of erstwhile Kinetic scooters.Currently, the superbike makers sell around 12,000 units per annum in India.The company hopes to sell at least 300 sports bikes of the three models and their variants in the range of Rs 16-26 lakhs.

They used to travel from Vashi to Santa Cruz on Anish’s bike to attend their fitness classes from 10 am to 1.” Anish has been admitted with few injuries.  

“Sunil’s friends would often tease him for not being able to ride a bike. PSI Bharat Waghe of Tilak Nagar police station said, “Both the youngsters are resident of Vashi and completing their graduation in a private college in Vashi. So he wanted to prove them wrong. On approaching a speed breaker near SCLR Bridge near at Chembur Tilak nagar area, the rider lost control and the bike skidded,” he said, further adding, “On being informed, we took him to the hospital where on arrival, Sunil was declared dead.

A 19-year-old boy died in an accident near Chembur on Tuesday after he lost control of his bike and skidded near Chembur on Tuesday.
